Elena Steel, (MFT)Intern

I am a dedicated, compassionate therapist-trainee, who cares deeply about working in a collaborative way to help my clients create goals, heal, feel better, and grow. I believe therapy is  for everyone, but not all therapy is the same. Passionate about authenticity and tailoring therapeutic approaches to each client, I aims to truly meet clients where they are. I am currently working toward a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Trained to work with individuals, and couples, and families, I’m confident about creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone. I often work with adults and adolescents and have a special interest in working with couples and young adults who may be dealing with a wide range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, life cycle transitions, grief and loss, relationship challenges, difficult family dynamics, significant life changes, spiritual conflicts, and burnout. I have a strong belief in attending therapy as a great preventative and proactive way to maintain overall mental and emotional wellness.

A Washington State native, I have lived in Nashville for the past 8 years and am currently in the final semester of my master’s program, where I enrolled after many years of working with young families as well as in humanitarian organizations abroad. I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society, and am a certified facilitator of the Prepare/Enrich Premarital Assessment. Additionally, I have completed trainings In Gottman, Trauma focused-CBT, CPT, and will graduate with a specialization in Play Therapy.
